Violette's color scheme was inspired by this stunning bit of crazy lavendaresque mohair. (Yes, I spend many minutes fondling my wonderful mohair collection, wondering who will eventually wear each bunch.)

She is only the second figure I have sculpted with a moveable head, seperate from the neck and shoulder piece and attached by a steel spring, so she can look anywhere, if she weren't so shy. Her eyes are a base of white Sculpey III over the Super Sculpey skin, then painted in acrylics. She refuses to look you straight in the eye no matter what. Very strange, but sweet. Her soft wired body is all poseable.

Her wings are stitched nylon then laminated, her skirt and fabric flowers are of sparkle-nylon, which makes her look very French Rococo to me, but her skirt and head garland come off so she can look like a more modern student of dance in her sparkling unitard, flaunting a new hair color. Violette could stand or sit but she prefers flying or just hanging around. Wouldn't you?
